Discipleship - People of The WAY

18And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,... 20teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;...
(Mt 28:18-20)

34"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
(Jn 13:34-35)

16And as He walked by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 17Then Jesus said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men." 18They immediately left their nets and followed Him. 19When He had gone a little farther from there, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending their nets. 20And immediately He called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and went after Him.
(Mk 1:16-20)

Jesus want us to be HIS disciples! You might have heard the Classical Christian quotes like "Moses mentored Joshua, Elijah mentored Elisha and Paul mentored Timothy", so you need a mentor! This is not so, just deception to increase fanfare. Let me ask you this, who mentored Moses, Elijah and Paul?! You'll find out when you read the Scriptures! Jesus is our MENTOR, through His Holy Spirit He guide us! "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come (Jn 16:13).

In the epistle to the Hebrews, this is further emphesised: 10"For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 11" None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, Know the LORD,' for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. (Heb 8:10-11) So everyone ought to look unto the Author and finisher of our faith! If you need help in your walk I would glady help you until you're able to stay own your own. This is not about expansion of any "brand-name" or "wordly banners". We are under the banner of Jesus Christ and its HIS Brand-Name we promote.

The Scriptures strongly rebuke the promotion of any other message than what has been preached already: 6I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. (Gal 1:6- 9). That is the reason for one of the ministry principles to be: For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ. (2 Cor 2:17). May the Lord help you in the walk with Him!

To help you begin, this series on walking the road to reality with Jesus is the starting point. After that, we need to be focused and live in the light of Eternity.
